SUCCEED is the brand name of a series of digestive health products for horses. Manufactured and sold by Freedom Health, LLC, of Aurora, OH, SUCCEED products provide imaginative, highly effective, and proven approaches to managing gastrointestinal health in performance horses.
SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program (DCP) is a daily feed supplement that establishes and maintains the health of the entire equine digestive tract, including the stomach and hindgut.
The unique, patented formula includes naturally occurring nutrients necessary for the health of GI anatomy and function. It supports nutrient absorption and bioavailability, immunity and recovery, a moderated rate of feed transit through the digestive system, a balanced and healthy hindgut, a healthy gut lining and mucosa, and fuels muscles. Every ingredient in SUCCEED is certified human food grade or above to ensure quality and purity.
SUCCEED Veterinary Formula (VF) offers an advanced version of SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program, available only through veterinarians. It offers the same benefits as the original SUCCEED, plus has additional amino acids to support mucus production and healthy GI tract muscle tissue.
The biggest difference is SUCCEED VF comes backed by the SUCCEED Healthy Gut Commitment. We will pay your veterinarian for certain types of care in the event that SUCCEED VF doesn’t live up to its promise of total digestive health. Learn more about the Healthy Gut Commitment and what it covers here.
The SUCCEED Equine Fecal Blood Test (FBT) is a non-invasive, inexpensive, and reliable diagnostic tool that uses antibodies to detect occult blood components in your horse’s manure. Like a thermometer detects an elevated temperature, the FBT gives your veterinarian a source of objective information to identify if your horse has a digestive issue. It can also help determine if the problem is in the stomach, the hindgut, or potentially both.
Because the FBT points to an issue but doesn’t specify exactly what it is, it should be used by your veterinarian as one part of the diagnostic process. Ask your vet to test your horses.
While any horse can benefit from the good digestive health SUCCEED delivers, horses used for performance and competition tend to be most in need.
The horse’s state of normal, good digestive health is sensitive and easily challenged, often from the time a foal hits the ground. Keeping horses stalled all or part of the day, feeding grain-based meals, limiting access to hay/forage, training moderately to rigorously, hauling regularly, navigating high-stress and new environments, and use in breeding can stress digestive health. Even just one of these practices can be enough to lead to digestive issues. The effects may be seen in a horse’s stomach and hindgut health, weight, appetite, body condition, behavior, focus, willingness and ability to perform, and more.
Owners who support their horses with SUCCEED find that they eat well, maintain weight and condition, have good digestive and overall wellness, are more relaxed and focused, and are happier to interact and perform.
Feed SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program once a day every day to support the health of the entire equine digestive system. Most users see the transformation in their horses within 60 days, although some may take longer and many take less.
SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program may be purchased from online retailers and local feed and tack stores. Many veterinarians also carry SUCCEED.
SUCCEED Veterinary Formula and SUCCEED Equine Fecal Blood Test are available through your veterinarian only.
