Laura Kraut’s Horses Improve on SUCCEED®

Growing up in Atlanta in the late 1970s, Laura Kraut was drawn into the popular world of hunters from an early age. Kraut’s mother was a rider, and she found herself on horseback as soon as she was old enough to walk. But in 1984 Kraut was introduced to jumpers—and she was hooked.

“I was immediately taken with it,” Kraut said of her new sport. “My first jumper was one of those perfect first horses. He was fast and he won.”

More than 20 years after getting her start in jumpers, Kraut is a veteran of the sport. An Olympian with wins in some of the world’s most coveted events, she credits her success to great horses and a strong support team that includes dedicated owners, and heavy family involvement.

She also credits one of her first, and most famous horses— Simba Run—with helping her achieve competitive success in the long run. “For sure he goes to the head of the list,” Kraut said of the horse. “He taught me what a good horse should feel like and we competed together for 10 years.”

Kraut’s horses must not only be at the top of their games to compete at the prestigious events she frequents, but they must also be able to handle the stresses of travel, stalling and high grain diets that go along with tough training and competition schedules. All these factors can seriously affect the equine digestive system, so Kraut looks for ways to support her horses so that they can work to their potentials.

“Anything that helps their digestive tracts will help all-around health as well,” she said.

The Discovery

When Kraut was first approached about trying SUCCEEDTM Digestive Conditioning ProgramTM she admits to being skeptical. “We had a routine and I was concerned about over-supplementing,” she said.

But Kraut decided to try SUCCEED on a couple of her horses. Within four or five days one horse in particular was exhibiting an improved attitude toward work. Excited about the success, Kraut put a few more horses on SUCCEED.

“For my money the product is very affordable,” she said. “I think it’s worth it. In some way it can help every horse.”

Results

Now, Kraut reports seeing big turnarounds in a number of horses that are on SUCCEED. In particular, she notes the case of a six-year old warmblood just imported from Europe who exhibited highly nervous behavior. After being fed SUCCEED the horse is healthy and even seems less excitable while working.

“They could have given me all the scientific information they wanted to about this product, but I never would have believed it until I saw it for myself,” Kraut said. “In small ways, with lots of horses, I’ve seen improvement. I’m really hooked on it!”

Without SUCCEED, I’m not sure our 5-year-old, homebred National Hunt racehorse Cloudy would still be here. That, or we would be drowning under vets bills whilst we tried to work out how we could help him.
