Karen O’Connor’s Top International Eventing Horses on SUCCEED®

Karen O’Connor and husband (and current USEF President) David can certainly be considered in the top tier of the equestrian world. Karen has been named USEA Lady Rider of the Year ten times, and USEF Equestrian of the Year in 2007. David won the USEF Equestrian of the Year twice. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

For Karen, this level of performance requires more than the typical “hard work and talent.” It also requires that both horse and rider stay in top condition throughout the year. That’s not always easy, especially in her sport.

“We ask so much of eventing horses.” Karen says.

In spite of their tremendous care and treatment, the O’Connor Equestrian Team is vulnerable to the challenging conditions of the performance horse lifestyle. “Our horses’ digestive health seems to be under constant pressure. In fact, the more fit they are, the more difficulty they have retaining their weight. They end up wasting valuable energy in their stalls.”

The O’Connors discovered SUCCEED® Digestive Conditioning Program®. “I had been told about SUCCEED before, but didn’t think much about it,” Karen says. “Then I saw their magazine ad featuring Steffen Peters. I respect him as a horseman, and what he said about this product just made it seem like a perfect fit for our program – natural, cutting edge, a different approach.”

What Karen discovered is that a horse’s digestive health is a delicate system that can be imbalanced by the challenges of modern performance horse management. A unique, daily Functional Feed program, SUCCEED maintains the health of the entire equine digestive system. And the O’Connor Equestrian Team now knows, this can directly affect the horse’s complete condition – appearance, temperament, performance…everything.

So, now? “We have all of our top international competitive horses on SUCCEED. Their weights are up, and keeping up. They actually seem to enjoy eating now,” Karen explains. “These horses need to be in top condition for this level of competition. SUCCEED helps make the management of these horses a little easier.”

David O’Connor is impressed with the dramatic differences it has made for the horses. “I don’t know exactly what SUCCEED does, but I know what I see. Our horses are all in great condition thanks to SUCCEED.”
