Congrats to Courtney Ryan & Fabulicity: 2011 AQHA World Champions

11 November, 2011 | Posted in category: SUCCEED Stories, SUCCEED® News & Events | No Comments

The entire SUCCEED crew would like to extend a hearty congratulations to our very own Courtney Ryan for her AQHA World Championship win in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle with home-bred horse Fabulicity.

This win comes on the heels of a 2011 NSBA World Championship as well.

Fabulicity is a 3-year-old mare bred and owned by her mother’s (Nancy Sue Ryan) Show Stop Farm. Fabulicity began her career with a 5th place finish in the Master’s Hunter Under Saddle last fall and since has been competing with Courtney throughout the 2011 season. Courtney has several World Championships in Showmanship, but this is her first Hunter Under Saddle World title.

Fabulicity is a third-generation Show Stop Farm horse; her sire Fabuluke and grandsire Luke At Me were both competed by Nancy Sue.

“It’s especially nice to get to know them when they are babies and then as show horses,” Courtney says. ”I was really proud of her last night. Sometimes she has a little bit of a hard time in the holding tank, but as soon as we made it into the chute she was all business. She really let me push her around the pen and show what she is made of.”

Nancy Sue and Courtney have kept the Show Stop Farm horses, including Fabulicity, on SUCCEED® for several years.

“We do so much with the horses, it’s the least we can to do make them look good, feel good, and perform well,” says Courtney. “Horses enjoy it, like it, look great on it, ride great on it, are more comfortable on it, and are more agreeable.”

Congratulations again Courtney and Fabulicity!

Dressage Horse Dolce Gains Sparkle and Focus

02 November, 2011 | Posted in category: SUCCEED Stories | No Comments

Heidi Kohl and her horse Dolce participated in the SUCCEED Challenge. Here’s their story on how SUCCEED gave an otherwise healthy horse that extra sparkle he needed.

Dolce Before

I have owned Dolce since March of 2010. He is a dressage horse.

I decided to try SUCCEED because I had nothing to lose and everything to gain! I had a healthy horse, but one that was nervous and high strung. He just needed more focus and over all sparkle. I am not a big believer in supplements. After being in the horse business for over 35 years I have seen so many “magic dust” supplements that people spend a fortune on hoping it will “fix” their horse.

I knew I was feeding a high quality hay/grain diet along with an exercise program and that Dolce should be filling out and muscling up. But it just wasn’t happening. Everything I read about SUCCEED stated that it would help the horse digest and use what he was being fed.

Dolce after taking the Challenge

Since Dolce’s diet was top notch, I took the SUCCEED Challenge.

Since then, Dolce is totally changed! He has not only gained weight but he has filled out and his hair coat is fabulous. I have actually cut down on his grain ration and he is still muscling up more and doing great.

The most important benefit that I have had is that Dolce is also more focused and happy in his work. He doesn’t get so “worried” about changes around him, yet he has the power to work hard.

Dolce showed in his first show this summer. He has been working well and seems so much happier and content with his job. Summer heat is a hard thing for a black horse like Dolce but he is still worked happily and kept his glow.

Lynn Palm Recommends SUCCEED in SmartPaks for that Extra Bloom

19 August, 2011 | Posted in category: Our Riders, SUCCEED Stories | No Comments

Lynn Palm Riding WesternQuarter Horse breeder, trainer, rider, judge and clinician Lynn Palm has given her life to horses. Along with her many accolades, including 34 World and Reserve Championships and the 2006 AQHA Professional Horsewoman of the year, Lynn has helped countless horses and riders through clinics and expos.

Lynn brings the basics of dressage to her training and teaching for all disciplines, including all around multi event show horses, hunters, dressage and recreational trail horses. And Lynn knows that a high performing horse that also glows with health starts on the inside.

We had a chat with Lynn to see how her horses were doing on SUCCEED. Here’s what she had to say.

Lynn Palm Shares Why Her Horses Are On SUCCEED in SmartPaks

I’m not a big supplement feeder. But when Freedom Health explained to me that SUCCEED is for the wellness of the digestive system, I used my common sense. I thought it had to be something interesting.

Lynn Palm DressageI tried it on three horses to start, and after two months I saw an incredible difference in all of them. They all really bloomed.

As a horse trainer, it’s just as important to develop a horse’s body as it is to educate it – especially in the development of the topline muscles. The main benefits I see from SUCCEED are in body condition, weight control and muscle development. Plus they just shine with dapples.

I use SUCCEED in SmartPaks, especially when I’m traveling, because they are convenient and the best way to be consistent. SUCCEED will do the most for your horse when you are consistent.

I recommend SUCCEED to everyone I can for horses who need that extra bit of bloom, or especially for those who have been de-wormed appropriately and are on a good feeding program but are still light in weight.

I have great feelings knowing that my horses have the extra good health using SUCCEED. It is a supplement I will always use.

Gershwin: Unrideable to Rideable with Healthier Hindgut

01 August, 2011 | Posted in category: SUCCEED Challenge, SUCCEED Stories | No Comments

Thank you to Stephanie Honz for sharing her SUCCEED story – and her lovely gelding Gershwin – with us! Stephanie participated in the SUCCEED Challenge and found that with improved health came a much happier horse with a better attitude. Here’s Gershwin’s story:

I have owned Gershwin for 14 years of his 15-year life. I bought him as a yearling, and will never part with him. He is a retired A-circuit Hunter/Jumper and the two of us are now working very hard at learning dressage.

Gershwin Grumpy During Groomming

Sensitive and grouchy during grooming.

Gershwin Showed Signs of Chronic Hindgut Issues

Gershwin is the quietest, most reliable mount one could wish for. However, his whole life he suffered from minor colic episodes. Though a small dose of Banamine always did the trick, his consistent low-grade bellyaches had been disturbing.

I learned about SUCCEED through my own research when Gershwin got to the point where he was not rideable because his digestive upset was becoming more frequent and more severe. The vets all seemed mystified.

I had Gershwin scoped several times throughout his life, but we never saw any ulcers in his stomach.

Gerswhin Trotting and Hollow

Uncomfortable and hollow

I concluded on my own that Gershwin must suffer hindgut issues, which would explain the clean scopes.

Trying SUCCEED to Improve Equine Hindgut Health

After learning about SUCCEED on my own, I began to ask around. I learned that many people have had luck with the product.

I tried SUCCEED as a last resort, while it should have been the first thing to try.

After two weeks of being on SUCCEED I was able to ride Gershwin again. He hasn’t had any more signs of digestive upset. And overall, he just seems like a happy guy!

Happy Gershwin Taking a Treat

Healthier and happier with an improved attitude

Gershwin will be on SUCCEED for the rest of his life.

SUCCEED is Worth It Because Gershwin is Worth It

Gershwin has had a wonderful showing career as a Hunter/Jumper.

He has a great work ethic; I have boxes full of ribbons and prizes to show his success in the ring. I have been offered impressive sums of money for this horse, but his dependability, loyalty, and willingness to please is worth more to me than any sum of cash.

Gershwin has an innate sense for the wellbeing of others, and because of that, he has found a permanent place in my heart.

Of course I would want to spare him any unnecessary discomfort. Thanks to SUCCEED, I believe I have done just that!

SUCCEED Supports Stallion’s Weight Gain After Overseas Travel

20 June, 2011 | Posted in category: Horse Health & Nutrition, SUCCEED Challenge, SUCCEED Stories | No Comments

Sharon Londono, manager of Oak Hill Ranch, is one of the first to complete the SUCCEED Challenge with her stallion Don Caruso. Meet Don Caruso and see how this gorgeous stallion improved in just 60 days on SUCCEED.

Don Caruso was purchased in Denmark for the purpose of being a breeding stallion in the U.S. for Oak Hill Ranch. As you probably know, importation on stallions is much more lengthy than for a gelding or mare. In fact, the average time they spend in quarantine is 45 to 60 days.

Don Caruso entered into quarantine, a little drawn up from the trip but nothing we couldn’t manage with some rest and fluids. That is where the problem began.

He fretted and never settled in the stall. He did not eat anything we offered, but nibbled on alfalfa hay.

Upon finally getting him out of quarantine and getting him to the ranch he started fretting a new. We tried turnout, light work sessions, ulcer meds and again a smorgasbord of different food items.

Heather Blitz, our former trainer, was back in the area and helping us with our current trainer when I mentioned my problem. She recommended SUCCEED. I said I would try anything!

Heather then got everything set up and the product arrived. I was very happy that we could administer the first doses orally with the paste, since he wasn’t eating.

Within a relatively short period of time his appetite improved, he started settling in his surroundings and began gaining weight.

On July 14, 2010 when we started using SUCCEED, Don Caruso weighed 1,104 pounds. By September 3 his weight had increased to 1,325 lbs. If that doesn’t impress you, look at the photos!

How SUCCEED Supports Healthy Weight Gain in Horses

In performance and other stressful situations, it may be difficult for some horses to maintain their weight. The best way to help a horse pack on much-needed pounds is to make sure that its digestive tract is totally healthy. When the stomach, intestines, and hindgut are working their best, your horse will get the most out of its food. And when it feels better it will eat better too. These all-natural ingredients in SUCCEED promote weight gain specifically through:

  • Oat flour rich in a soluble fiber called Beta glucan moderates transit time in digestion. This allows for increased digestion of processed feeds in the small intestines as well as a moderating the release of sugar into the bloodstream.
  • Amino acid L-Glutamine helps build the villi (ripples in the gut wall), maximizing surface area for greater nutrient absorption.
  • Specially processed oat oil in SUCCEED is rich in Polar Lipids, specialized fat molecules that coat damaged tissues in the gut and provide an amazing conduit for getting nutrients into the bloodstream.

Learn more about the ingredients in SUCCEED as well as the health and performance benefits of a healthy equine digestive tract.
